Week 2A

In modern day, social media is used around the world whether it's personal or business related. I have been on social media since most of them were released and seeing the evolvement over time through the new technology is astonishing. Having access to social media grants us a way to connect with people from all over. This is a great way to keep in touch with a friend from overseas or promote a business.

There are so many different social media platforms being used in everyday life but the most popular would be Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Snapchat and LinkedIn. People gear towards using Snapchat, Facebook and Instagram for personal use. Snapchat is one of those social media platforms that is really only used for personal reasons. Every once in a while you will see a celebrity post an ad or promote something of theirs but it's really just to send out pictures to friends. Instagram and Facebook can be used either as a personal account or a business account. What is so great about these platforms, is that it actually allows you to choose which type of account you would like to make, business or personal. Personally, I use social media just to keep in touch with family, friends and my peers. However, I follow business accounts that are only promoting their brand as well as influencers such as Kylie Jenner and David Dobrik. 

LinkedIn is one of the most popular social media platforms for business. This is because you are able to make a business profile and upload your resume allowing you to reach out to employers all over. Majority of businesses look at your LinkedIn page to get information. Employers also tend to look at a potential employees Instagram. It's important to be aware of what you post on your private or business profile on any platform. This is because employers like to see what kind of stuff you do and how you promote your self you the world. Twitter is a great platform to be informed on the news and get your latest trends whether it's memes or fashion updates. But Twitter can also be somewhere you see promotions.
