Week5A

Visiting both Armstrong Garden Centers website and Rancho Vista Nursery's, I noticed right off the bat that Armstrong is a more well known company. Although they both are in the succulent industry and sell similar products, Armstrong Garden is striving to reach a wider target market with over 30 locations whereas Rancho Vista Nursery has a single main location in Vista and around 10 stands. I feel that Rancho Vista is targeting local customers because of their single location and rely on their regulars.

Armstrong Gardens has a clean website with multiple tabs for quick navigation. Their colors and fonts are simple and match the theme they are trying to portray. Not only does Armstrong Gardens have free classes and events, they also do installation services and provide you with all the information you would need. Since Rancho Vista is targeting local customers, their website is short. All the information you would need, they can provide on one page. Their theme is welcoming yet boring quite honestly. They don't display anything that draws me in or makes me think about their company. They share who they are and what they sell, but so what? I can find multiple other succulent growers just like Rancho Vista.

Overall, if you are in Vista looking for a local grower to purchase your succulents from then Rancho Vista would be ideal. However, if you're looking to broaden your search for products and be open to new and fun things, Armstrong Gardens is for you. Their website intrigues me into learning more about plants and gardening tips and tricks. Another great factor on Armstrong's website is that you can shop online! E-commerce is rapidly increasing YOY and with this, they can reach an even wider audience.
