Post reach and post engagement may seem similar, however they are significantly different. Post reach is the number of people who saw your specific post on their news feed. Post engagement is the number of time people have interacted with your post whether they liked, commented or shared it. It's important to know the difference between the two because people tend to focus on receiving high likes but really should be focusing on getting more engagement. Anybody can see your post, but what matters is who interacts with it to spread awareness of the content.

Businesses can take advantage of using Facebook insights to see how many people are really engaged with what they are posting. This business could have thousands of followers but only hundreds of engagers. This matters because to get your service or product name out into the public, you are going to need people to share and comment on your posts. Facebook insights also helps businesses better serve their customers by proving them with accurate information on every post. If one post had thousands of engagers while another only had hundreds, businesses will take this information into the creation of future content. Although I don't have a business to promote, I check my personal Instagram insights to see how each post is doing. In my opinion, it helps me a lot because I am able to see what kind of posts my followers are most interested in.
